A dry cleaning family since 1964.
It started in the Bronx.
In 1964 the family opened a cleaner in Throggs Neck under the One Hour Martinizing sign. The motto back then was "Fresh as a flower in just one hour." Most of the family worked behind that counter at one point or another.
That Bronx store is still in the family today as American Cleaners & Tailors. From there the family grew into Westchester and Connecticut, one neighborhood cleaner at a time, including the two One Stop stores in Danbury and New Fairfield.
Today Vinny Zeppieri and his two sons, Vinny Jr. and Nick, run the stores together. They keep the work the way it has always been done, by hand and by people who know the customers by name, and bring in new equipment where it makes the work better.
How the work gets done
Pressed by hand
Suits, dresses and shirts are finished by pressers who have done it for years, not run through and bagged.
Tailors trained in-house
Master tailors and dressmakers who learned the family's way of working and have stayed for years.
Stains that others give up on
Stain-removal methods worked out over six decades at the spotting board.
One family, six neighborhood cleaners
Bring something in.
Both One Stop stores open at 7am on weekdays, with a tailor in most days and same-day service when you need it.
